Watch: Passenger Films Bus Flood Amid Heavy Rainfall
A bus passenger has voiced frustration over Malta’s persistent flooding during even light rainfall.
Footage shared with Lovin Malta shows a bus struggling through floodwaters on Triq l-Abate Rigord in Gżira.
“I think it’s ridiculous. They’ve been messing around trying to fix this road for years, and it still floods. It’s not even heavy rain. They should do a better job of clearing the drains,” the passenger told Lovin Malta.

Malta Public Transport(MPT) confirmed that some bus routes are being diverted due to the weather conditions.
“As soon as the rain started, we did our best to divert the buses, but naturally some buses would have already been on route and therefore could not be diverted,” MPT wrote in a statement.
