Watch: ‘Proud Of The Ruins’ – Israeli Social Equality Minister On Gaza During Parliament Session
Minister for Social Equality and the Advancement of the Status of Women of Israel May Golan has expressed pride in the “ruins” of besieged Gaza.
“I am personally proud of the ruins of Gaza,” Golan said passionately during a Knesset Parliamentary session on 19th February, adding that Palestinian babies will grow up to recount the tales of “what the Jews did when their families were murdered and raped and their civilians were kidnapped”.
Yesterday, an overwhelming majority of the Knesset, that is the Israeli legislative body, voted against the unilateral recognition of Palestinian statehood.
However, Ofer Cassif, a member of the Knesset for the Jewish-Arab Hadash has backed South Africa in the ICJ genocide case against Israel.
Last Monday, a total of 85 lawmakers voted to boot Cassif from the parliament, five short of the required three-fourths support in the 120-seat body needed to expel the far-left legislator.
“If you think the prize for the slaughter of Jews, the raping of women, the beheading and the kidnapping of civilians will be to sit in a ‘government of change,’ you are dreaming,” Golan exclaimed in yesterday’s Knesset session, referring to Cassif.
“We have a mission. And the last thing we will allow is for Ofer Cassif to go up to the Temple Mount with a flag of Palestine, and for Sinwar to be the minister of defence of the Palestinian State like his brother Arafat,” Cassif continued, adding that the Hamas leader will not be met with “a dove” or “an olive branch”, but “only a sword to cut off his head.”
As it currently stands, the Palestinian death toll is inching close to the 30,000 mark, with Israel intensifying its bombardment of the densely populated Rafah in South Gaza.
Nasser hospital, one of the largest functioning hospital in the enclave, was raided last week.
One of the few doctors remaining in the hospital has described the current situation at the hospital as “desperate and catastrophic”, a week into the Israeli raids.
