Watch: Robert Abela Should Now Scrap ‘Corrupt’ Electrogas Deal, Adrian Delia Says On Jon Mallia’s Podcast
Former PN leader Adrian Delia has called upon Prime Minister Robert Abela to act on other corrupt matters in the country, referring to the Electrogas project.
This was said during Jon Mallia’s special edition podcast with Delia last night, after his landmark win on the Vitals-Steward case.
“So after this precedent, should we start believing or at least thinking that there are other corrupt matters that we can now as citizens, perhaps with the help of MPs, look into?”
“I have no doubt there are other corrupt matters,” Delia promptly replies.
“You don’t think that the Electrogas deal is corrupt for example?” Delia asks.
“The evidence is all pointing towards that,” Mallia replies.
“Is there really the need for an MP to embark on another five-year crusade? Or if maybe, after he concludes all his analysing, Robert Abela, who needs to act in accordance with the national interest, takes that decision?”
“Cause he can’t take this decision now, because the Court has taken it. Cause on the Vitals-Steward deal he waited for me. He can still take other decisions though,” Delia persisted.
Mallia then referred to a statement released by the ADPD, which called for an investigation into every capital project which was carried out under Joseph Muscat.
“I had said that too as well,” Delia says. “I had said that wherever there are hands involved such as Muscat and Konrad Mizzi, yes, it should be investigated.”
Judge Francesco Depasquale yesterday ordered the annulment of the deal and the return of the three hospitals to the government, with all costs to be borne by Steward Malta.
Delia’s case, which he filed almost five years ago, calls for the scrapping of the concession that placed Vitals Global Healthcare, and later Steward Healthcare, in charge of the St Luke’s, Karin Grech, and Gozo hospitals.
