Watch: Scenes Of CPD Officials Putting Out Yesterday’s Marsa Shipyard Fire
After putting out an intense fire that broke out in a private Marsa shipyard, the Civil Protection Department posted some photos and videos from the chaotic scene.
40 firefighters and 15 fire appliances were used in the successful mission that began yesterday evening at around 6pm when a fibreglass vessel burst into flames.
Images show thick, black smoke billowing into the air being contained by firefighters and their advanced tools.
This was one of three fires that CPD had to control yesterday with a Wied iż-Żurrieq fire spreading across the area of the size of two football fields and a grass fire in San Ġwann – all of which were successfully contained.
