Watch: Standstill Traffic On Mġarr Bypass Direction Mosta After Heavy Vehicle Breaks Down
Heavy traffic has been reported along the Mġarr bypass, direction towards Mosta after a heavy vehicle broke down.
Police confirmed with Lovin Malta that the long lines of traffic currently forming were caused by a fuel truck that broke down, just past Vincent’s Eco Estate.
Videos sent to Lovin Malta just moments ago show a long line of cars and trucks all stuck behind a heavy vehicle carrying fuel.
The video also shows some cars attempting to overtake the truck by driving on the pavement, as overtaking from the outer lane is not possible due to the concrete barriers.
Transport Malta officials are also on site.
The public is being advised to avoid the area as it is unclear when the issue will be fully resolved.
