Watch: Ta’ Kola Windmill In Gozo Partially Collapses Leaving Four Injured

Four people were injured earlier today when a section of the historic Ta’ Kola Windmill in Xagħra, Gozo, collapsed.
The incident occurred at the well-known tourist attraction, which operates as an ethnographic museum under Heritage Malta.
A police spokesman confirmed the injuries, and members of the Civil Protection Department were dispatched to the scene. The windmill is a significant cultural landmark, originally built in 1725 during the time of the Knights of St. John.
It is the only operational mill of its kind in Gozo. Following an extensive, three-year restoration project that cost €70,000, the site was reopened to the public in September 2016. The restoration had returned its original wooden milling mechanism and structure to full working order.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of historic sites and the importance of regular maintenance to preserve cultural heritage. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse and assessing the extent of the damage to the windmill.
This is a developing story
Update: The four people that were injured in the incident have been hospitalised and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
