Watch: Track Your Bus In Real Time – Malta Public Transport Launches New App Feature
The Transport Ministry has finally made it possible to live track your bus on the Tal-Linja mobile app.
With this update, you can now choose your route and see where the bus has reached in real-time, Transport Minister Chris Bonett wrote on social media.
“With this change, we are helping everyone who uses the bus to plan their journey more effectively.”
Talks about such a feature have been circulating the island for a couple of months now with Public Transport General Manager Konrad Pulé having pledged it in December of last year.
Malta’s transport system is known to be somewhat inconsistent, with most buses arriving at their stops way past the scheduled time. This has deterred many from using the system thus contributing to the island’s bubbling traffic problem.
Such an electronic feature is expected to help as users will no longer wait aimlessly at bus stops, hoping for their transportation to arrive ‘sometime soon’.
