Watch: Van Recklessly Overtakes Birżebbuġa Traffic While Driving In Opposite Lane
New footage sent to Lovin Malta shows a white van recklessly overtaking traffic on the opposite lane as cars approached in what could have easily led to a dangerous accident.
The driver who filmed the dangerous maneuvers in Birżebbuġa yesterday at around noon could barely believe what he was seeing.
“I saw him overtaking cars behind me, and he soon overtook me too. So I told the passenger that was next to me to film him because I knew he would do the same thing and in fact he did,” the driver told Lovin Malta.
“I was scared for the people who were coming from the opposite side. It’s so unfair,” they said.
In the footage, the white van is seen driving in the opposite lane as traffic approaches, with many cars having no choice but to press against the wall to avoid crashing into it.
The van continues to drive a fair distance in the opposite lane.
Over the last few months, drivers have been using their dashcams to raise awareness of the realities of driving in Malta, with drivers resorting to dangerous maneuvers to shave a few seconds off their commute becoming more and more commonplace.
