Watch: Viral TikTok Video Brands Malta A Holiday ‘Catfish’

A video updated to TikTok by a visiting tourist Siân Hampson has gone viral after she compared Malta to Afghanistan and saying she felt “catfished” into coming to our islands for a holiday.

“Fully catfished #malta,” wrote Hampson in the video’s caption.

The video has reached more than 4.4 million views and has initiated a conversation with almost 2,000 comments. Some of the distinguished comments said “Malta changed so much for the worse” and “the stench is also unbearable in Malta.”

In the video, viewers can see tourists staying at a hotel in the heart of Paceville who were looking at the tragically collapsed Tania Flats which could be seen just across the location where the video was shot.
