Watch: Worker Filmed Balancing On Beam Without Safety Gear
A construction worker was filmed balancing on a beam hovering at a considerable distance from the ground without safety gear.
The footage shot early on Monday morning shows a man sitting on a beam dangling from the side of a Birkirkara building supported by what looks to be thick rope being held by two other men. He then gets up and walks across the beam with no harness or support.
The footage was sent to Lovin Malta by one of the nearby residents who described this as “utter negligence.”

This comes days after a stop-works notice was issued by the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) on another site in St Paul’s Bay after a worker was similarly found working unharnessed on dangerously unstable scaffolding.
Lovin Malta has reached out to the OHSA for a comment on this issue.
