We’re Not Going To Ibiza: Malta’s Universal Air Cancels All Flights After 30th May

Universal Air has cancelled all of its scheduled flights set to depart after 30th May, disrupting many summer plans.
The airline sent out an email to all passengers yesterday afternoon informing them that their flights were cancelled. In many cases, this airline was the only one to offer direct flights to destinations like Ibiza, Corfu and Pecs.
“We know how disappointing and disruptive changes to travel plans can be and this is not the experience we ever aim to provide. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this may cause.”
Passengers are expected to receive refunds within three to five working days and they will receive confirmation once processed.
The decision was made as part of a strategic realignment towards their expanding Charter and ACMI operations. This comes just over a year after they initially announced the new routes.
“This adjustment reflects our continued commitment to delivering tailored air travel solutions that meet the needs of our partners and customers,” a public statement reads.
