A white taxi driver was allegedly attacked by a Y-Plate driver at Ċirkewwa as he was talking to tourists who had just approached him.

In photos sent to Lovin Malta, the white taxi driver was left bloodied and badly injured after a Y-Plate (cab) driver apparently attacked him to try get more customers.

“These photos show how a white taxi driver ended up, who was speaking with tourists next to the bus terminus in Ċirkewwa,” they explained.

“A cab driver approached them as they were speaking, and the white taxi driver asked him what he was doing. In that moment, the cab driver grabbed him from his neck and punched him in his nose,” they told Lovin Malta.

The cab driver immediately fled from the scene of the altercation. 

The taxi driver then had to be transported to Mater Dei Hospital, while police investigations are ongoing.

A search for the aggressor is ongoing.
