Now in its fourth year, the Mvintage Woman of the Year award continues to honour women who inspire through courage, authenticity, and strength of character. This year’s title goes to Yazmin Zoe Helledie, a media personality and advocate whose openness has transformed personal pain into purpose.

After experiencing a miscarriage, Yazmin spoke candidly about her loss, helping to break cultural taboos and open a national conversation around miscarriage and pregnancy loss. Her call for recognising miscarriage leave as a basic right has resonated deeply, highlighting the need for empathy and understanding toward those experiencing such grief. Today, Yazmin is expecting a baby girl. However, she is facing a difficult and delicate pregnancy that has placed her on extended bed rest.

Despite this deeply personal challenge, Yazmin continues to show extraordinary strength, using her platform to support other women and couples navigating similar journeys. Her story is one of courage, vulnerability and hope: a reminder that even after loss, life and love can bloom again.

Amid growing awareness of pregnancy loss, a new Early Pregnancy Unit will soon open at Mater Dei Hospital. The unit will offer a dedicated, private space for those experiencing miscarriage, ensuring compassionate care separate from maternity wards, a testament to how conversations like Yazmin’s can inspire meaningful change.

As Yazmin continues this chapter of her journey, we wish her strength, peace, and healing in the days ahead. She is in our thoughts, and we stand with her. A Message from Mvintage Founder, Krystle “Mvintage was built on the belief that every woman carries power within her, not just in her triumphs, but in the moments she feels most fragile. Yazmin’s story reminds us that true strength isn’t about perfection; it’s about honesty, resilience and choosing to rise even when it hurts.

This award is a celebration of that kind of power, the quiet, unshakable kind that changes hearts and minds.” Krystle, Founder,Mvintage Honouring the 2025 Nominees The Mvintage Woman of the Year celebrates women whose determination, compassion and vision uplift others.
