You Can Now Pay €13 A Month To Enjoy Facebook And Instagram Ad-Free
Meta users now have the option to pay €13 to enjoy Instagram and Facebook on their mobile phones without any ads, as a new feature is rolling out across Europe.
In this recent update, users can now pay either €12.99 when accessing Instagram and Facebook from iOS or Android, or €9.99 when accessing the sites from web browser, for a total ad-free experience.
Alternatively, users can continue using the services for free as it is while running promotional material.
As of March, this prices are expected to rise by €8 on mobile and €6 on web.
During the last few days, people in Malta have started to be asked whether they would like to start paying for the service, where one can either subscribe to use without ads or continue using as is.
Meta recently made an announcement about this move last month, aiming to address the apprehensions of European regulators regarding its data collection and utilisation practices in the context of advertising.
This comes as the European Union has started to take stricter action targeting such big companies, with Meta already being hit with a series of fines.
Have you been asked whether you’d like to pay for an ad-free experience yet?
