‘You’re A Murderer’: Pelin Kaya’s Sister Reacts To Jeremie Camilleri Pleading Guilty To Voluntary Homicide
Derya Kaya, Pelin Kaya’s sister, took to social media to react to the news that Jeremie Camilleri, the man who brutally ran over the Turkish woman an hour into her 30th birthday, has pleaded guilty to the harrowing murder.
“You’re a murderer, murderer, murderer!!!,” Derya wrote while sharing the news of Camilleri’s plea on an Instagram story.
Camilleri pleaded guilty earlier today to the voluntary killing of Pelin on 18th January 2023.
Following the unexpected development, the lawyer of the Kaya family spoke with local newsrooms about how the family’s reaction following Camilleri’s admission of guilt.
“The reaction of the family can never be one of satisfaction. Because the pain will remain. What they want is their daughter back. Admission or no admission, their daughter is not coming back. The pain will still be there. One thing that will change is that they no longer have to come to Malta for court hearings, reopening the wound. It will help them heal but the wound will remain,” lawyer Shazoo Ghaznavi told reporters outside the court, as seen through footage posted by Times of Malta.
A sentence is expected to be handed to Camilleri in the coming hours.
