Watch: Keith Demicoli Places Sofa At Valletta Entrance And Enjoys Chat With Random Stranger

Keith Demicoli has returned to TVM as host of the national station’s revamped morning show and he has come up with a quirky way to promote a sense of community.

Twice a week, TVAM will air a feature called ‘Poġġi ma Keith u tkellem fuq xiex trid” (Sit down with Keith and speak about what you want).

It is literally what the description entails – Keith sitting down on a sofa in a popular public place and inviting a random passer-by over for a chat about whatever they want.

The first feature aired this morning, with Keith placing a sofa at the entrance to Valletta and calling a man over for a chat.

And the first stranger turned out to be a man called Steve Compagno, who wanted to speak to Keith about the state of Malta’s environment.

“I think our villages and towns can be a bit greener, more trees can be planted on street corners and more shrubs could be planted on traffic islands,” Compagno exclaimed.

He also came up with a few interesting proposals, including the formation of “street councils”, which would see neighbours come together to pool ideas for how to improve the environment of their particular street.

Keith Demicoli, who spent several years as a TVM newscaster, said the new TVAM is intended to put a smile on people’s faces at the start of the day.

“The show will be about you and the things that interest you and it will inspire you to start the day on a good note, to go to work and school in a good mood and to live your life better,” he said.
