Amongst the challenges was that he would eat wet dog food once he reached €100 in donations.

However, not more than 30 minutes in he had already reached this goal which only meant that he had to put his head down and commit to eating the disgusting wet dog food.

‘‘It was challenging to push through the 24-hour mark but thanks to the generous viewers that kept on smashing donation goal after donation goal, I was able to persevere,’’ Spooner told Lovin Malta. 

When asked which challenge he found the most challenging, Spooner didn’t hesitate to insist that the hardest challenge was the ‘‘hot chip – no drink for two minutes’’ challenge – since he has a very low tolerance for spicy food. 

The 24-hour charity stream has been a yearly gig for him. His first one was on 21st March 2021 for YMCA where he raised €800 and his second one was in December last year where he raised €1,300 for Rescued Paws – in which he had to eat cat food live.

Spooner also explained to Lovin Malta how he has received a handful of negative comments on the stream.

‘‘The lowest point whilst making content must be seeing the negative response to this charity stream by mostly our older generation, where they look at this at surface level and vilify it instead of taking up the initiative and helping out.’’

However, this doesn’t seem to faze the young content creator as his only goal is to put a smile on people’s faces and he states that nothing will get in his way from doing so.

‘‘Having the love and support of my girlfriend and my closest friends also helped keep me focused and on track.’’
