10 Arrested In Major Drug Trafficking Operation In Valletta Apartments And Marsa Stable

Ten people have been arrested following a major drug operation in Valletta, seizing cocaine, cannabis and synthetic drugs. 

In a statement, police said that it had been observing the movement of a 30-year-old Maltese woman and a foreign man, aged 31. The two people were allegedly using two properties in Valletta as their base of drug trafficking operations.

At 6.30am this morning, police descended upon the two people and arrested them in Valletta. 

Following their arrest, the police went to the property and found another seven people there, one Maltese woman and six foreign men. In the search, police found cocaine, money, jewellery and other items related to drug trafficking. 

The operation then moved to a Marsa horse stable, with police arresting a 50-year-old Maltese man, who is a resident of Żejtun. Police found cannabis, cocaine and synthetic drugs waiting to be trafficked in the stables. 

Magistrate Gabriella Vella is leading the inquiry.
