A 13-year-old was injured in an incident that saw her tripping over and falling onto a gate.

The girl was rushed to hospital where she was found to have grievous injuries.

After being certified by medica, she was allowed to leave hospital and is currently at her own home resting and recovering.

The incident happened at around 9pm last night, in Triq is-Sur, Fgura. Police said the girl slipped while walking, falling onto an iron gate that belonged to a private residence.

The mother of the girl thanked District Police as well as members of the Civil Protection Unit who helped her daughter in their time of need. She thanked them for their “impeccable” work.
