eCabs Technologies has officially launched in Australia, marking another step in its global expansion. The Maltese-founded mobility tech company is now powering RooRides, a new ride-hailing operator based in Western Australia.

Live since August, RooRides is currently piloting its service in Esperance, a coastal holiday destination, with plans to expand into other tourist hotspots across the state. The collaboration brings eCabs Technologies’ global footprint to seven live markets, following launches across Europe and the UK.

The partnership builds on eCabs’ €18 million technology programme, which has produced a robust white-label ride-hailing platform designed to help local operators scale quickly and compete in regulated markets.

eCabs Technologies CEO Matthew Bezzina said the Australian launch demonstrates both the adaptability of the company’s platform and its deep operational know-how. The company’s experience in marketing, branding, and launching mobility services, he said, is helping partners like RooRides enter competitive markets with confidence.

“This partnership is a clear example of how our years of operational experience can be harnessed to help operators succeed,” Bezzina said. “RooRides has big ambitions — and that’s exactly the kind of operator our platform was built to empower: fair, innovative, and deeply connected to its community.”

RooRides founder Steve McMullen said working with eCabs Technologies was “a game-changer” that made the company’s launch possible. “Their cutting-edge technology and operational expertise allowed us to deliver a seamless experience for both riders and drivers,” he said.

With its pilot in Esperance underway, RooRides plans to expand across Western Australia, developing a network of community-driven ride-hailing services built around local needs and powered by eCabs Technologies’ platform.

Founded in Malta in 2010, eCabs Technologies has evolved from a leading local ride-hailing operator into an international SaaS company. Its platform now powers mobility providers in Greece, Romania, Germany, the UK, and Australia, giving traditional operators the tools to compete sustainably against global giants.
