A 17-year-old Maltese girl tragically lost her life in a traffic accident that occurred in the early hours of the morning along the Central Link road.

ONE News reported that the accident occurred at around 3am along Triq Tumas Chetcuti, Attard. 

A medical team was called on-site to assist, along with police and members from the Civil Protection Department.

The 20-year-old driver and the other 17-year-old passenger were both taken to Mater Dei Hospital for care. Conditions are still pending.

Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading an inquiry while police investigations are still ongoing.
