In a new collaboration between Mcdonald’s, the Eastern Regional Council and the Ħal Għargħur Local Council, 20 new bins have been installed at Top of the World, one of Għargħur’s most popular public spots, to tackle littering and promote cleaner, greener public spaces.

The bins, which are co-branded and strategically placed across the area, are part of an initiative by Premier Restaurants Malta, the operators of McDonald’s in Malta, to encourage responsible waste disposal.

The bins will also be emptied more frequently to ensure the space stays clean and enjoyable for everyone.

“At McDonald’s we believe in taking meaningful actions that contribute to the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Peter Hili, Managing Director of Premier Restaurants Malta.

Eastern Regional Council President Anthony Chircop highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in tackling environmental issues, while Ħal Għargħur Mayor Helen Gauci said she was proud to be part of a project that directly supports the community’s cleanliness and sustainability.

It’s a small but important step towards keeping one of Malta’s most iconic viewpoints looking its best.
