A 20-year-old man was arrested for assaulting an elderly woman in Rudolph Street, Sliema yesterday afternoon. 

Police confirmed with Lovin Malta that they were informed yesterday afternoon that an argument had erupted in Rudolph Street. 

When officers arrived on site, they saw the victim on the floor and the alleged aggressor nearby.

The young man acted aggressively with the officers and resisted arrest.

The elderly woman was taken to hospital for treatment and was certified as suffering from grievous injuries. The 20-year-old was arrested and further investigations are ongoing.
