20-Year-Old Nadur Arsonist Arrested Over Destruction Of Two Motorcycles

Intensive investigations have led to the arrest of a 20-year-old male residing in Nadur, Gozo, in connection with two motorcycle fires.

The fires had occurred back on 2nd September when, around 5:30pm, the police, together with members of the Civil Protection Department, were called to assist on Piju Cellini Street in Nadur.

Upon their arrival, they found two motorcycles that were parked in front of a residence on fire.

Subsequently, police investigations commenced, and Magistrate Simone Grech opened an inquiry into the crimes.

Earlier today, the 20-year-old was brought to court in Gozo before Magistrate Brigitte Sultana.

He was charged with wilfully setting fire to two motorcycles and causing damage to the facade of a private residence due to the fire.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him and was sentenced to one year of probation, as well as receiving orders for treatment in light of the youth’s behaviour.
