21-Year-Old Man At Risk Of Dying After Underage Driver Crashes Into Wall
A 21-year-old man is at risk of dying after a 17-year-old female driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.
At around 1.30am, police were informed of an incident in Triq il-Madliena in Swieqi.
Police immediately went to the scene, and it turned out that a 17-year-old girl resident of St Paul’s Bay, lost control of the Renault Zoe vehicle she was driving and she crashed into a wall.
Along with her, there were also three passengers, a 21-year-old man resident of Naxxar, a 20-year-old Swiss resident of Swieqi, and a 19-year-old girl from Chile, resident of St Julian’s.
Civil Protection members and a medical team were called to the scene to assist, and ambulances took the victims to the Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.
Later on, the 21-year-old man was certified as seriously injured while the condition of the other three is still pending.
Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace was informed and appointed an inquiry.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
