22 Irregular Migrants Arrested In St Julian’s And Face Deportation

Police have arrested 22 people in St Julian’s after they were found to living in Malta without the proper documentation. 

Malta’s authorities have undertaken an extensive operation to curb irregular migration in the country, targetting localities all over Malta. 

This time, the police descended upon St Julian’s. 

People arrested were from Algeria, Syria, Tunisia, Gambia, Somalia and Nigeria. 

They have been taken to the detention centre ahead of their likely deportation.

So far, almost 200 people have been deported while countless more arrested.
