A 23-year-old man from Ta’ Xbiex was driving a Suzuki Swift in the early hours of the morning when he lost control and collided into crash barriers on the coast road.

The police were notified about the incident at around 01:45 am this morning.

Accompanying the man was a 22-year-old woman passenger from Ħaż-Żabbar who was taken to Mater Dei Hospital to be treated for her injuries. The woman was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries while the man didn’t suffer any.

Police investigations are ongoing.
