23-Year-Old Englishman Fighting For His Life After St Paul’s Bay Crash

A man has suffered injuries of a life-threatening nature after an accident in St Paul’s Bay.

The man, a 23-year-old from the UK, was driving a motorcycle when he lost control of it, fell onto the road and continued to slide across the tarmac until his body impacted with an Opel Corsa being driven by a 63-year-old man from Mellieħa, police said.

The accident happened at around 1.30pm today in Triq it-Tamar.

An ambulance was called to the scene where they took the man to Mater Dei Hospital. He was certified with serious injuries shortly afterwards.

Magistrate Elaine Mercieca has opened an inquiry into the accident.
