24 Irregular Migrants Arrested And Face Deportation Following Police Operation In Gozo

Police have arrested 24 irregular migrants following an operation in two towns in Gozo. 

In a statement, police said that the arrests happened after inspections were carried out in properties in Sannat and Marsalforn. 

24 people were found to be living in Malta without the proper documentation.

They have been transferred to the police headquarters in Floriana and the process to return them back to their home countries is currently underway.

This arrest forms part of an initiative to clamp down on irregular migrants in the country who do not have the necessary documentation.

Recently, police arrested 13 irregular migrants in Gozo and a further 27 in Marsa.
