24 People Taken To Malta’s Detention Centre After Immigration Inspections
Inspections by police and Detention Services officers have led to 24 people’s arrests in relation to illegal immigration.
The people, who came from Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Benin, Guinea, Niger, Ethiopia and Somalia, were taken to Malta’s Detention Centre earlier today.
This comes after inspections carried out in Hamrun and Qormi found they did not have permits to be on the islands.
Investigations are on-going.
