24-Year-Old Colombian Man Dies After ‘Jumping’ From Portomaso Building
A 24-year-old Colombian man lost his life earlier this morning after police said he “jumped” from a building in the Portomaso marina.
Police informed newsrooms that the incident occurred at around 6.15am, next to the marina along Vjal il-Portomaso, St Julian’s.
Police were called on-site after a worker who was in a nearby building spotted a person on the edge of a building, who later jumped on the grass below.
After a few moments, a security person went to check the area after hearing a person crying for help and immediately called for assistance.
A medical team and members from the Civil Protection Department were called on-site to assist, and the man, who was identified as a 24-year-old Colombian man, resident of St Paul’s Bay, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
He was certified to be suffering from injuries of a serious nature. Shortly after, the man was certified to have died from his injuries.
Magistrate Joseph Mifsud is leading an inquiry. The death is not being treated as a suicide.
