A 24-year-old Somalian man was assaulted by a sharp weapon last night.

The incident happened at around 1 am at Ġnien Spencer in Marsa. The Somalian man (who is also a resident of Marsa) was attacked by a person wielding a sharp object. The attacker immediately fled from the scene of the crime.

The 24-year-old made it to Triq il-Kbira San Ġużepp in Ħamrun before he was picked up by a medical team and transported to Mater Dei.

It was later certified that he was suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
