250 Kilos Of Cocaine Seized At Malta Freeport In Major Drug Bust

Malta Customs officers have made a significant start to 2025 by intercepting 250kg of cocaine at the Malta Freeport Terminal.
 
The container, which originated in Guayaquil, Ecuador, was en route to Piraeus, Greece, when it was flagged as suspicious during routine profiling.
 
A detailed inspection and scanning revealed the illegal substances concealed in the front row of the container.
 
The Police Drug Squad was immediately called to assist in the investigation, confirming the massive haul of cocaine.
 
A magisterial inquiry has been appointed, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the smuggling operation.
