A 27-year-old man is at risk of dying after a fireworks factory incident in Siġġiewi.

The incident took place yesterday at 6.30pm when Police were informed of an incident in a fireworks factory in the area of Ta’ Kandja.

From initial reports, it was revealed the man, who lives in Mqabba, was working on some fireworks when an incident occurred which led to him to suffer from burn injuries.

The man received medical assistance and was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
