29-Year-Old Man At Risk Of Dying After Swimming Pool Incident In Siggiewi
A 29-year-old man is at risk of dying after he was found unconscious in a swimming pool at a gym in Siġġiewi yesterday evening.
The incident occurred at around 9.30pm in Triq Ħal Farruġ and emergency services were called to assist the man, who had reportedly gotten into difficulty while swimming.
The Police, together with a medical team from the Mater Dei Hospital went immediately to the scene, where there they found the man unconscious.
People who were in the vicinity pulled him from the water and began administering first aid prior to the arrival of medical personnel.
An ambulance transported him to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment where it was certified that he suffered serious injuries.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry.
Police investigations are ongoing.
