30-Year-Old Woman Dies After Getting Hit By Car That Drove Into Gżira Outlet

A 30-year-old Turkish woman tragically lost her life during the early hours of the day after a car drove into an outlet in Gżira.

After crashing into the petrol station nearby, the driver, a 33-year-old man from Lija, drove into the KFC restaurant, where the woman was situated.

The incident occurred at around 1am, along Triq Testaferrata. 

People on site immediately tried to assist the woman but were met with aggression from the driver, who ultimately had to be tased by police in order to contain him.

It has also been reported that the man even started throwing stones. It is not yet confirmed whether he was under the influence of any substances.

Magistrate Nadina Lia is leading an inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
