30s On The Horizon: The Weather In Malta This Week Is About To Switch Things Up And Bring The Heat

Getting wet and having to take out all those slightly thick jackets out of storage again isn’t exactly what a lot of people had in mind for May in Malta, but the month’s first couple of days have pretty much been a mix of Force 6 winds and a whole lot of sand-infused rain. Now, it looks like the winds might literally be changing.

This week’s weather forecast for the islands doesn’t start too great, but it’s not surprising considering yesterday’s rainy end to the weekend just before midnight. Today is looking windy (we’re talking all the way up to Force 6 again) and even potentially wet at times, with highs just about making it to 20°C and the lows still at a very cool 12°C.

As the week slowly progresses though, the wind will die down, the sun will return, and those temperatures will slowly start climbing. And when we say climbing, we mean it; every single day will experience a bump in highs, making it all the way up to 24°C by Friday. Pair that with mild southeasterly winds and sunny days, and this week could definitely be time to test out those new pair of shorts or that t-shirt you’ve been hiding under your zip-up hoodie.

As a teaser of what’s to come, Saturday’s warmest moments are forecasted to feel as high as 28°C, devilishly close to those 30s that are soon going to become the new norm on the islands for a couple of months. Y’all ready?
