31-Year-Old Libyan Man Arrested In St Paul’s Bay In Relation To Drug Possession
A 31-year-old Libyan man residing in St Paul’s Bay was recently arrested after an immediate response by Malta’s police found him in possession of drugs.
Yesterday evening, at around 8.30pm, the police received an anonymous report about a man allegedly trafficking drugs on Triq it-Tamar, St. Paul’s Bay.
Officers promptly went to the location and noticed a person matching the description provided. When the man spotted the police vehicle, he appeared agitated and attempted to leave the scene.
The man was subsequently arrested and taken to the police station, where a search revealed multiple sachets containing substances suspected to be cocaine, cannabis, and MDMA, along with a quantity of cash.
Further investigations led to a search of the man’s residence, where a bag containing additional sachets of suspected cocaine, cannabis, and MDMA was discovered, along with more cash. In one of the rooms, four mobile phones were found hidden inside a television set.
Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed of the case and opened an inquiry, while police investigations remain ongoing.
The man is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
