31-Year-Old Żejtun Man Arrested In Connection To 146kg Cocaine Bust At Malta’s Freeport

In recent days, investigations have continued regarding the seizure of 146 kilograms of drugs, allegedly cocaine, which was brought into the country via Malta’s Freeport.
The intensive investigations led to the identification of another individual allegedly involved in this organised crime network operating in Malta.
A 31-year-old man, residing in Żejtun, was arrested in connection to the bust. In connection with this arrest, the police seized a considerable amount of cash, luxury cars, and jewellry.
He will be charged with drug trafficking, money laundering, and organised crime, among other offences.
The man is expected to appear in court today before Magistrate Dr. Astrid May Grima.
This comes after four Maltese men were initially arrested in relation to the bust last week: a 44-year-old resident of Birżebbuġa, a 46-year-old resident of Fgura, a 36-year-old resident of Ħaż-Żebbuġ and a 41-year-old resident of Ħaż-Żabbar.
