A 33-year-old British man was arrested after breaking into and stealing from vehicles that were parked in Mġarr.

Police were informed of a suspicious man along Triq Vitale, Mġarr, who was spotted next to parked cars at around 12am on Sunday.

Police immediately went on-site to search for the man in question, who was located within minutes based on previous descriptions. 

Investigations found that a number of items, including money, were stolen from cars that were forced open.

The man is being retained at the Floriana lock-up, and he will appear later on in court in front of Magistrate Abigail Critien.
