36 Irregular Migrants Arrested After A Series Of Inspections Across Malta

A joint effort by the Police and Detention Services Officers resulted in the arrest of 36 individuals found living illegally in Malta on Saturday morning.

These inspections took place in Ħamrun, Santa Venera and Msida and are part of a series of inspections carried out with the aim of ensuring people living in Malta have valid documents and necessary permits.

Among the people arrested, 35 men are Syrian and another person is from Gambia.

The apprehended individuals are currently detained at the detention centre and will remain so until their return to their countries of origin.

The Police Force will continue with its regular inspections in the heart of the community.
