A 37-year old Nigerian man has lost his life after succumbing to wounds in a knife attack late last night in Qawra.

A man has reportedly been arrested in connection with the crime, which took place at around midnight on Triq il-Gifen.

Police and ambulance services were quickly on the scene and rushed the man to the hospital. However, he would die from his wounds an hour later.

Police believe the incident erupted after a fight broke out between the two men.

Magistrate Carolina Farrugia Frendo has been appointed to oversee the case. Police investigations are underway.
