A 37-year-old Maltese, male resident of Mosta, was recently arrested in relation to a BMW which was set on fire in Qormi a few days back.

The incident, which occurred on 20th March, led to police finding a parked car on fire at around 4.30am, along Triq Ġuże Duca in Qormi.

After the flames were extinguished members from the Civil Protection Department, investigations commenced immediately, with Magistrate Monica Vella ordering an inquiry into the ordeal.

Following investigations and looking through CCTV footage, it resulted that the car was intentionally lit on fire. 

The alleged perpetrator has now been identified, and he will be brought to court at around 12.30pm later today.
