4.9 Magnitude Earthquake Registered Off Maltese Coast This Morning
A 4.9 magnitude earthquake registered off the Southwestern coast of Malta was felt by a number of Maltese localities early this morning.
The seismic monitoring and research group from the University of Malta registered the earthquake at around 5.22am, at 4.9 on the Richter scale.
Meanwhile, the local page It-Temp Madwarna said that the earthquake’s epicentre was around 115km away from the Southwestern side of Malta.
Residents from a number of localities spread all over the islands, such as Mellieħa, Marsaskala, and Xlendi in Gozo reported feeling the earthquake.
