54-Year-Old German Diver Dies In Dwejra

A tragic incident unfolded in Gozo earlier today after a 54-year-old German woman lost her life while diving in Dwejra.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm, when the woman was brought to shore by people who were on site.

Police, a medical team from the Gozo General Hospital, members of Civil Protection, and the Armed Forces of Malta all rushed to assist.

Sadly, despite their efforts, she was certified dead at the scene.

Magistrate Simone Grech has opened an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
