57-Year-Old Worker Dies After Falling Five Storeys Off A Construction Site In Qormi
A 57-year-old man from Birkirkara tragically lost his life after falling a construction site in Ħandaq, Qormi this morning.
Police said the man fell around five storeys off a construction site he was working on in Sqaq iż-Żiemel at around 10:15am.
Civil Protection officials and medics were called on site but the worker was declared dead on arrival.
A magisterial inquiry is ongoing and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) has launched a separate investigation into whether any workplace safety laws were breached.
