A 64-year-old German man has passed away after crashing his motorcycle yesterday in Żebbuġ, Gozo.

At around 8.30pm, police who were on patrol in Triq Marsalforn, Żebbuġ, saw a man on the ground and immediately went to assist him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man, resident in Xagħra, was driving a Yamaha motorcycle and for some reason collided with an electricity pole.

The victim was given medical treatment but unfortunately he was certified dead after some time at the scene of the incident.

Magistrate Bridgette Sulatana is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
