A 68-year-old resident of Imqabba suffered serious injuries after being run over by a vehicle in Triq Ħal Tarxien, in Ħal Tarxien.

The accident happened at around 10.45am on Saturday when the woman was hit by a vehicle that was being driven by a 56-year-old man who lives in Tarxien itself.

Medical assistance was requested at the scene, with the victim being taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where it was certified that she had suffered serious injuries. Police investigations are still ongoing.
