A 69-year-old man is at risk of dying after falling off a ladder while doing works on a private residence in Żejtun.

Police were informed of the incident at around noon today, after health authorities advised that a man was brought into Mater Dei after an incident along Triq il-Qadi in Żejtun.

Investigations found that the man, who also resides in Żejtun, had fallen down the height of around a storey from a ladder. 

An ambulance was called on site to assist the man, and it was later certified that he is suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Gatt is leading an inquiry.
