A 7-year-old boy was critically injured in a car accident yesterday in Raħal Ġdid where the driver lost control.

A preliminary survey of the scene revealed that a 51-year-old woman and resident of Żabbar was driving a Renault Captur before she lost control and crashed with a parked trailer.

The young boy was in the Renault.

The incident occurred in Triq il-Baċir at around 2.15 yesterday afternoon.

Soon, a medical team was called to the scene and an ambulance rushed the victims to Mater Dei Hospital where the boy’s serious injuries were confirmed. Meanwhile, the woman’s condition is still pending.

A magisterial inquiry has been opened while police investigations are ongoing.
